Last week was a good reading for me - if a short one. The grandbaby decided to visit early and honestly, last week is a blur. :)
Here are the books I want to share with you today.
Rose Petal Graves by Olivia Wildenstein - 4 Stars ****
Founded two centuries ago by a powerful tribe of Gottwa
Indians, Rowan was a quiet town, so quiet that I fled after graduation. Staying
away was the plan, but Mom died suddenly.
Dad said she suffered a stroke after she dug up one of the
ancient graves in our backyard, which happens to be the town cemetery. Creepy,
I know. Creepier still, there was no corpse inside the old coffin, only fresh
rose petals.
As we made preparations for Mom’s burial, new people began
arriving in Rowan, unnervingly handsome and odd people. I begged them to leave,
but they stayed, because their enemies—my ancestors—were beginning to awaken.
Blood Crossed by John P Logsdon & Christopher P Young

finally learns the full story, it may just be too late for everyone…
Covert Fae by C N Crawford - 3 Stars ***

The Undercover Witch by Gina LaManna - 3 Stars ***
My mother says trouble began the day I was born, but I’d
disagree. I think trouble started the day I crashed my broomstick into an
undercover cop car.
My name is Ainsley Shaw, and I’m a Guardian Witch. The title
sounds fancier than it is—really, I’m a glorified bodyguard for magical people.
I love my job, and I’m good at it… most days.
Except today. While I was flying around town on my
broomstick thinking about life, love, and the latest episode of The Bachelor, I
zoned out and ran smack dab into the taillights of a speeding police cruiser.
Unfortunately, the man inside was a human cop, which made explaining how I
appeared from thin air in the middle of a crime scene a bit of a challenge.
Now, the police think I’m trouble—not least of all Detective
Hotterson, the one responsible for denting my shiny new broomstick. Which means
